Debt Advisors Canada provides free debt education and guidance for Canadians who want to understand their options. We help you review your debt situation and compare possible paths, including debt consolidation, debt management plans, credit counselling, budgeting, consumer proposals, alternatives to bankruptcy, and bankruptcy. Debt Advisors Canada is not a Licensed Insolvency Trustee, lender, law firm, or government program, and does not file or administer consumer proposals or bankruptcies. The service is free, confidential, and available across Canada, excluding Quebec and the territories.

Debt relief does not always mean bankruptcy

Many people assume that getting help with debt means declaring bankruptcy. It usually does not. Bankruptcy is one option among several, and a debt consolidation, debt management plan, or consumer proposal may fit better. A free assessment helps you find out which one applies before you decide anything.

What we do, and what we do not do

Debt Advisors Canada is not a Licensed Insolvency Trustee, a lender, a law firm, or a government program. Consumer proposals and bankruptcies can only be filed and administered by a Licensed Insolvency Trustee under the federal Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. If your situation may involve a consumer proposal or bankruptcy, we explain that those options can only be handled by a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. We also help you understand other possible paths that may be available before you decide what to do next.
